We may set out to change our diet or start a new fitness routine only to find that a voice in our head starts insisting “you can’t make me!” and then we don’t.

Or maybe we white-knuckle it for a while, but focus on how deprived we feel when we stop eating certain foods even though we know they set us back. If you’re whipping yourself into compliance, this approach will only last so long before the rubberband snaps back and the old habits kick in.

This cycle of making and breaking promises can be heart-breaking.

Food issues are almost never about food!

Most of my clients already have a pretty good sense of what to eat and what not to eat. At most, this requires some fine tuning and not an overhaul.
