The Body Image Summit 2013
Melody Moore, Ph.D., has a vision of a world where all girls and women radically embrace their bodies and themselves, and has envisioned and co-founded Embody Love Movement to create this revolution, one already beautiful body temple at a time.
The question she posed, “how did that happen FOR you?” as an upgrade to, “why did that happen to you?” is just one amazing take-away from this conversation. Allow it to change your life, and it will!
If you want to be reminded of Melody’s wise words, you can hear the replay of this recording here.
Melanie is a writer, speaker and Associate Faculty member at Santa Monica College, teaching Sociology and Women’s Studies. She attributes feminism and yoga as the two primary influences in her work. She is the founder of FeministFatale.com and contributes to numerous publications, including Yoga and Body Image, a forthcoming anthology which she co-edited. I have the pleasure of contributing to this anthology, and I know it will be amazing. If you want to keep posted, you can follow it’s progress on Facebook.
Tonight she dove into what body image really is and how we can best go about perceiving and controlling it.

I’m confident that this interview is something I will come back to again and again. If you feel the same way, here’s the recording .
Anna Guest-Jelley certainly adds a fresh and much-needed perspective to not only the yoga-sphere, but the wellness world in general. We truly appreciate her contribution to the Summit!
You may know Anna as the founder of Curvy Yoga, a training and inspiration portal for curvy yogis and their allies and teachers. She is a writer, educator, and lifelong champion for women’s empowerment and body acceptance, and I couldn’t be more excited to be interviewing her. Anna is definitely a kindred spirit and she delivers her message with a touch of humor and a lot of heart.
